Food and Diet
The IBS Research Appeal have reported a great deal about sufferers attitudes and experiences with different types of foods and drinks in their quarterly IBS Bulletin but sadly, what is good for one is often less than helpful for others so we can't give an overview.

Generally speaking, spicy foods, fried and fatty foods, greens, citrus fruit, cheese and onions appear at the top of the list of 'Foods to be avoided.' But on the list of most helpful foods, greens (third in the most avoided list) appear as second! Fish, non-citrus fruits, rice and yoghurt rate well - but really, for most sufferers, it is unfortunately a case of working it out for yourself.

In terms of liquids though, coffee, alcohol and fruit juice top the list of drinks to be avoided.
